Thursday Sept. 6th

I feel like there hasn't been much going on, but we somehow have managed to stay busy. Cobe had soccer practice last night after he got home from school, and the two little ones slept all afternoon. After Ryan and I put the kids to bed, we popped open a bottle of champagne to celebrate yesterday's closing on the cottage. We both love champagne, so what better occasion to celebrate- that we could actually afford to buy a bottle!!!!! :-)

We had a quiet morning today. I forgot how quiet things were around here without 3 kids. Even just having 2 makes such a big difference. Cobe is pretty quiet, but with him gone, the other two seem to mellow out. Anyway, we hung around, I dropped them off at Lisa's and headed to work. I am really disappointed in one of my classes. I have one great class, and then one with some really immature boys in it. It is weird because it hasn't been the same one acting up each day, so unfortunately, I think the class is full of them- they each have taken a turn. I am going to change some seats come Monday now that I have watched the dynamics of the class for a few days and hope that will help. Otherwise, some heads will spin! haha I wish it were that easy!

Ryan and I cleaned the house last night AGAIN (before drinking our champagne :-) ) because some people came through tonight. So after Cobe got home today, I loaded them up and went to Russ' for dinner. It was nice to take all 3 of them out by myself and be able to have a very enjoyable dinner. Sadie has gotten to be a great age for restaurants and the boys have always been good. I was going to meet Ryan back at home but he got stuck at work, so I took all 3 of them to Brooks' preschool "Meet the Teacher" night. Boy was that a world of difference than last year. He marched in "his school" like he owned the place. He wasn't shy to his teachers. It was nice to see his social development since last year. There are 2 morning classes at his school, and I was a little disappointed that he wasn't in the other class. Two little boys that I know the parents of were in the other class, and neither he nor I knew any of the little boys in his class. There were several girls in his class from his 3-school class, but not a single boy. Oh well- he seems to do fine and didn't seem to care in the least that that was the case. I am sure he'll make some new friends.

Ryan ended up getting home just a few minutes ago from work (which equals big overtime bucks!), but I know he is exhausted. Tomorrow morning we have a meeting to check out a different insurance company hopefully to get cheaper rates for house/car insurance. One of Ryan's good buddies just went to work for them. And then I'm off to work again. We have a pep assembly in the afternoon so I won't have to teach the whole time which is nice. The Boeve girls are spending the night because Lisa/Chad are off to Detroit to a wedding. Cobe and Aliyah both have soccer games Saturday morning, so we'll check those out weather permitting. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, but clear up for Saturday. We may hit Friday night football tomorrow night with the 5 kids if the rain holds off. A free hot dog dinner (put on by Community Church in the parking lot) is hard to pass up! And the kids LOVE to go to the game. We'll see! You guys going Lynette? Tina?

So, I started by saying nothing much is going on around here, but I feel like it has been a bunch of little stuff- nothing big. I talked to my mom this morning and she mentioned wanting to go to Chicago the weekend they come in October, so that would be a blast! We have some fun stuff to look forward to this fall and I can't wait!!!!! Off to visit with my working man hubby!

Listen to you just having champagne with hubby and haning out. I hope your one class gets a bit better - I can't imagine dealing with that age - LOL!

Sounds like a fun weekend. Glad you had time with hubby. I ditto what Manda said about your class. Hopefully, the seat changes work at least for awhile. Ugh!
