Yes! It finally is cooler! I love days like today. The kids and I spent all morning outside playing before I went to work. It was finally cool enough to do that without me feeling all sweaty before going to work. Baby Elliot came over for awhile, so Brooks and I took Sadie and him for a walk. We played in the cul-de-sac for awhile as well on bikes, cars and scooters. Then we ate a quick lunch and headed off to Spot's. Grandma Boeve ended up having Brooks and Maya go over to her house to play while I was at work, so they could go for golf cart rides and play outside. I am sure they had fun- Brooks is still there and Sadie is still at Lisa's so I am enjoying some quiet time before all of them come back home. Nice! Nothing tonight- I am heading to Sam's Club to pick up some bulk stuff we are out of, then home to walk with Lisa. I hope this kind of weather sticks around for awhile.
Last night Cobe and I went to BSF and we both really enjoyed it. The other times I feel like Cobe just endured going, but last night, he was pumped and said how much he enjoyed it. So I hope that feeling continues for him b/c I really think he has learned so much since he started last year. It amazes me sometimes what he explains to Brooks about Jesus and God. I really think he understands so much more than I ever did at that age or even older! There were quite a few great principles in the lecture that I am going to work on making applicable to my life:
1. Obedience to God is learned by the daily experience of human life.
What struggles do I deal with each day?
What inconvienence will I view differently?
I need to remind myself in struggles that God is teaching me obedience.
**This one I am going to apply to my 6th hour class this year- they have been a daily struggle and one I need to approach differently.
2. Repentance involves changed thinking and a changed life.
There is action involved in repentance (conviction, confession and turning around to a new action)
Where does my life need to change?
There were several other principles but these 2 were definitely the ones that got me thinking.
My mom and dad come next week. YAY! Mom comes Sunday and is staying the whole week and my dad is flying in on Wednesday, and they will go home together on Sunday. The kids are WAY excited. Cobe got up this morning and as soon as he rolled out of bed asked, "How many more days until Nana and Papa come?" It is constantly on his mind. I am sure we'll do some fun stuff- Chicago to the American Girl Doll store for Sissy's birthday,Crane's, Cobe's soccer game, and who knows what else. Brooks has a field trip while Mom is here to Post Family Farm so we are going to go on that with him.
Speaking of Sis, she will be 2 years old next week!!!!! I can't believe that I will no longer have a baby in the house. Sad, but happy as well! She is well on her way to being potty trained and she isn't even 2 yet! She tells me when she has to poop, and usually pees as well when I put her on the potty, but she doesn't tell me when she has to pee. So I think the first long break I have (maybe Christmas???) when I can be with her all day long, I'll potty train her. Then I won't have to inconvienence anyone else with that chore. She is really talking up a storm as well. She cracks me up! I got her an outfit and a cat blanket so far for her birthday. I think I am going to order her a kitchen (wooden) for Christmas. It will fit great in our new house IF WE EVER MOVE!!!!! :-) I'm sick of waiting so I am going to go ahead and get it for her and put it in our dining room so she can start using it at Christmas time. I even think Brooks will enjoy using it with her. They play so well together.
Well, free time is up! Cobe will be getting off the bus in a second. Gotta run.

Hey, thanks for those principles, I missed it last night, especially after hearing the kids lesson, it's amazing what they learn adn I really did get something out of it, but there is somehting about the adult version to! One thing regarding repentace that was "taught" was that we need to turn away from sin permanantly when we repent, just like when you mix Koolaid in water you can't go bck to water, you can't go back to sinning after repentance! I thought that was a good visual!
Go for it on the Kitchen, you will get YEARS of use out of it, you'll be in that house soon, I just feel it!!! :) Sell yours, cuz then it's my turn!!!!!!!!!
All around good post. I am looking forward to getting back to BSF - probably next week at least for part of the 2 hours. Fun stuff with your parents coming and Sadie's birthday coming up - how cool! Let me know what we can get for her - maybe some food stuff to go with the kitchen???
Thanks for the updates on family. Didn't know Joyce and Bill were headed your way.
Got to have another wedding so we can all get together again...!!
Sadie will love the kitchen. She enjoyed our little tykes one when she came to play. BSF sounds like a great thing. What nights & where do you sign up (at least for next year)? see you maybe on Thursday - if Presley is still coughing we won't come. too many germs to spread.
Let's hope for nice weather when we are there next week! Can't wait! Looking forward to all we're planning to do.
