Day 1 Emerald Isle

I LOVE the beach!!!! We left my parents' lake house around 10:15 this morning, stopped for lunch at Wendy's on the way down and got to the beach around 2:00. We unpacked, threw on our suits and started off at the pool. The folks from Michigan rolled in later in the afternoon and the cousins were excited to all be together and play. Jeff, Michele, mom, Ryan, me and the kids went to the ocean for awhile and then Chad and his boys came later on. We all stayed there until dinner time playing in the sand and body surfing (well Ryan and the boys body surfed. I got out of the water once Ryan pointed out a huge stingray and we saw some kind of huge fish jump- not a fan of that!) Mom fixed yummy lasagna, bread, salad and fruit for dinner and then we headed back to the pool for awhile after the kids rode scooters. Sadie was beat so she hit the sack and we came in to hang out. One of my very best friends from high school came over with her daughter and her mom, and they stayed and gabbed until about 10:00. I miss her so much! She lives in Raleigh still, but we haven't seen each other in awhile. It was great catching up with her and her mom. I went on several family trips with them in high school, plus I lived with her after college in an apartment, so I was close to her mom as well. I think it is so much fun seeing the kids of my friends that I grew up with. So much fun seeing how alike they are and how much they act like the parent that I knew as a kid/teenager.

No pictures yet, but the camera will definitely be coming out tomorrow, so I'll post some beach shots tomorrow night. Looking forward to Day 2!!!!!!
