Life is Better!

Yesterday was a pleasantly calm and boring day. We like those around here! :-) No throw up, didn't even really leave the house except to go to the Farmer's Market yesterday morning. Cobe had b-ball camp, then we all headed off to buy some fresh fruit and veggies. I was disappointed in the fruit- none around, but we got 3 pounds of asparagus. After that, we came home and the kids played outside all afternoon.

Cobe had camp again this morning. I tried to go for a walk but got caught in a storm. I was very happy to see my hubby pull up to rescue me from the thunder and lightning. I was RUNNING home as fast as I could when he came and got me. Had plans to go to the pool, but since it was storming, we stayed home and Cole and Kendall came over to play. The kids all had a lot of fun. Sadie and Kendall were obsessed with the drum and maracas and kept marching in the band, while Cole and Brooks were super heroes all day. All of a sudden, my day got away from me, so we rushed off to meet Missy to take the kids home because we had to be at Cobe's baseball game at 5:00. We were late, but so was the coach, so all was good!

Cobe's team played the Phillies and were up 13-0 by the 5th inning. The coaches decided to let some "scrubs" pitch, so first Guillermo got to pitch. The other team scored 3 runs, so they took him out and put none other than Cobe Walker in to pitch!!!!! I was so excited, and more importantly, so was he! He had a grin from ear to ear walking up onto that pitcher's mound, and he made sure I saw him. He had some wild pitches, but got it under control and struck out 2 players! I was very proud of him. The game ended at 13-4 (he walked 1 player and bases were loaded, so they scored a run.) Tomorrow night is his last game. The coaches said they won't be able to make up their rained-out game from Tuesday night b/c there is no time left in the season. It was a fun start to Williamsport!

I have pictures from today of the super heroes and the marching band that I'll post tomorrow. Off to empty the dishwasher and fold clothes!

Yay for Cobe! I'm so glad he was excited and did well! How fun. Thanks for letting Cole and Kendall. Cole was telling me all about it on the way home, Lovie totally crashed! All that marching band work wore her out! They definitely love eachother! OK, and I have to ask. What in THE WORLD are you going to do with 3 pounds of asparagus? Yuck!

Wasn't that storm crazy? One second it seemed fine and the next it was like night.

I didn't realize that you wouldn't make the game up... that will kind of screw up the point system, we are all supposed to have the same number of games... and I disagree with Missy... I LOVE LOVE LOVE asparagus and so does the rest of my family, only we like it with Hollandaise sauce so we make it VERY fattening!

I don't go to the market until mid to end of June - especially with that late frost we had - pushed the produce back a couple weeks. At least you got asparagas!

Mmmmm... asparagus.I got some at farmer's market Wednesday, too! I saw a recipe for bacon-wrapped asparagus... sounds like it completely defeats the purpose of a fresh green vegetable. :)

UN-related to asparagus, a day without throw up is a good day. Human digestion is one of God's viler processes.
