After a longer trip home, we made it. It took us 13 1/2 hours to get home instead of the 12 it took to get there. We hit bad traffic on 95 North and then hit a few storms and patches of rain. We finally rolled in around 4 am and hit the bed. We always unload/unpack no matter what time we get home, but not this time. We brought in the cooler and that was it. We were T-I-R-E-D!!!!! The kids woke up about 2 hours earlier than us and kept themselves relatively entertained and quiet. I had to laugh when we finally got up and looked over the railing- it was a disaster area. It was worth cleaning up though to get those extra 2 hours of sleep.
We went to check in on the progress of our new house. Things are coming together. I love all the paint colors, the cabinets, the countertops and the kitchen flooring. The only problem was that they mixed up the flooring in Sadie's and the boys' bathrooms. I guess since that is their mistake, they'll fix it. They had stained the door (which I love the color of!) and finished in the screened-in porch. The landscaping looks nice too.
Looks like they are ready to lay the tile in our bathroom and the entryway tomorrow, and some of the appliances were in the garage ready to be installed. That only leaves carpet, lighting and closets! The end is in sight!
Too bad I haven't packed a single thing to move and I don't plan to start anytime soon! I keep postponing the inevitable. Oh well- no rush since we STILL haven't sold this house!!!!!!
I will be posting some things on craigslist to sell this week- if you are in need of a kitchen table (white legs with a maple top- 4 matching chairs), a couch (plaid), a loveseat (celery green) or a chair w/ottoman (all 3 pieces match), let me know. We will also have several tv's (the old ones- not new HD/flatscreen ones) for sale. And the list grows as I sit here- a sofa table (dark wood with wrought iron legs) and a bookshelf with enclosed cabinet (dark wood). Can't think of anything else right now- but probably will soon. Off to take some pictures of these things to post. Adios!

More pics from last night
Here are some more pictures from our night at Ellen's. We get to go again tonight to swim and eat homemade ice cream. Yum! Carmen, Mike and Baby McRae are on their way right now from Charlotte as well, so we get to hang out with them. More fun in store for us!
Cobe catching a pass from David Garrard.
Lining up for the route.
Another action shot from the football game.
Sadie and Brooks in Ellen's pool.
Sadie floating in her ring.
Sadie holding Justin Garrard. She was enthralled with him b/c she does love her babies. David calls Justin's "pipe" a "mouthpiece." Football player through and through!
Miss Sadie Claire being her flirtatious self.
One last action shot of the players. Thanks Ellen for taking these pictures and getting them to me so quickly!!!!!!

A Treat for Cobe
Cobe had the treat of a lifetime tonight. We went to a party at a neighbor's house, and Cobe got to meet, get his football card signed, get a football signed and run routes with David Garrard- starting NFL quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars!!!!!!!!! David and his wife Mary (and his 9 month old son Justin) live down the street from my parents at the lake in his off season. They are the nicest people. Cobe got a David Garrard football card about 6 months ago and has been saving it for David to be in town to sign. Well tonight was his night! After he signed his card, he swam in the pool with the kids (my mom's camera battery died right after I took these 3 pictures!!!!!! so I didn't get pictures of them swimming or running routes. Somebody else did and is supposed to email them to me tomorrow, so I'll post those when I get them) then he asked Cobe to go get a football so they could play. Cobe was on fire! He caught almost every pass David threw him. All of the people at the party were cheering Cobe on every time he caught one. David kept giving Cobe tips. It was exciting for me to watch knowing how thrilled Cobe was to get to do that. Here are a few pictures- hope to post some more tomorrow.

Vacation Picture Post
We had another great day on the lake! We went on a boat ride this afternoon to get ice cream, then came home around 5:00 for Ryan and I to get ready to go on a date. We went to a restaurant called Water's View and had a great, but expensive meal- $70 bucks!!!!! I am past the point of going out if you have to spend that much on a meal. It was good seafood- I had shrimp, scallops and crabmeat pasta, and Ryan had salmon, lemon rice and green beans. We had a couple of pomegranate martintis as well. They tasted like straight vodka to me- very strong!!! Can't beat free babysitters though! After dinner, we headed over to the neighbors' house who have a saltwater pool to watch the kids swim. It was a fun night. Here are some pictures from the past few days:
This is the swarm of fish that Ryan held Cobe's head under water into. Yuck!
Look at those HUGE carp! Nasty orange lips!
Sadie and Nana swimming tonight at the pool.
Brooks being the little fish he is.
As you can see, Cobe wouldn't let me take any pictures of him- he always escaped under water as I tried.

Day 3 & 4
Hmmm.... I'd like to think I'd have something different or exciting to post, but pretty much Day 3 was a repeat of Day 2. I'd say a little more time on the dock and in the water, and less on the boat, but other than that, the same. :-) I do have a cute story about Cobe. Cobe is my LEAST brave child of the 3. He has always been a little scared of things he shouldn't be. (so like me!) But that has all changed on this trip. There is a marina we go to and feed the fish there. We have always joked that they could use this fish feeding frenzy on Fear Factor because literally there are hundreds of huge carp and huge catfish that swarm when you feed them. It is a thick mass of fish. I told Cobe I'd give him $5.00 if he'd let Ryan hold him by his ankles and dunk his head into the fish. Cobe didn't give it a second thought. He agreed, Ryan obliged, and there was my 8 year old dunked under water up to his shoulders in this swarm of nasty-looking fish! I still haven't given him the 5 bucks yet!
And part 2 of bravery: My parents have a tall boathouse that we have grown up jumping off. It is probably about 9 or 10 feet above the water, and many kids and grown-ups too have enjoyed jumping off the top into the lake below over the years. Not Cobe. He has tormented himself each time we have been here for the last year at least if not longer. He would go on top and want to jump SOOOOO badly, but never could make himself do it. He would not accept that he wasn't ever going to do it, so he would be in tears wanting to, but also in tears at the thought of doing it. Well, once the head-in-the-fish-dunking escapade was over, he came back to the dock and earned another 5 bucks from my mom for jumping off the boathouse. He didn't give it much thought and just took the plunge. Now of course, he has done it many times each day and his fear is gone. He is having a fun time "being brave." :-)
Day 4 started with my usual morning walk. My parents then left with the boys to take them shopping. Brooks has been promised a new bike to keep here. My parents got Cobe one and Brooks one last year, but now Sadie has inherited the one Brooks had because it has training wheels on it, so Brooks needs another one. So Sadie is about to go down for a nap, and I'll hit the dock in peace! :-) (Peace that is other than Ryan bothering me! Haha) I'm sure I'll post again soon with pictures (from my mom's camera).

Day 2 of vacation
Day 2 has been just as great as Day 1 was! More sunshine, more walking, more reading, more boating, more fishing, more floating on rafts, more swimming, more riding on the Wave Runner, and my dad got the water trampoline in the water today, so that was fun as well! Nothing to complain about yet! :-)

We made it!
We are in NC after driving through the night. It only took us 12 hours and 12 minutes which is our best travel time in awhile! The kids were great; no one threw up; Ryan and I took turns driving and sleeping, so all went well. We arrived to great weather and didn't hit any bad weather on our trip down either. Ryan went immediately to bed, and the kids went immediately outside with my mom. I slept a lot during the trip, so I am not that tired. The only thing I am bummed about is that I forgot my camera!!!!!!! I remembered it about 30 minutes into the trip. Agh! I'll have to make memories that I capture in my mind I guess this trip. :-) More later.....

The light at the end of the tunnel
Only 2 more planned house errands that I can think of before leaving for vacation. Going to a showroom tomorrow to try and pick out fabric for a slider curtain and meeting a blind company on Friday at the house to measure all the windows for wood blinds. That's it! (mark my words!) I wish! I'm sure multiple other things will arise, but for now, those are the only 2 things I plan on doing this week.... we will move SOON after we get back from NC. Hard to believe the time is here!!!!! We accomplished all of our errands this morning and were gone until lunch time. We ran and picked up Brooks' friend Evan for him to come play. When Cobe got dropped off from soccer camp, his friend Riley and Brooks' friend Collin stayed to play and spend the night. Lots of little boys running around here tonight! We had to add some estrogen to some of the testosterone, so Lisa and her girls brought pizza for all of us for dinner. Yum! They couldn't stay long b/c they were off to VBS, but Jake and Ella as well as Katie, Josh and Jeffrey all played outside with the boys and Sadie too, so the kids had a blast! I enjoyed chatting with Jennifer while the kids played.
I rounded them up and headed inside thinking I'd have a hard time getting them to quiet down and go to bed. NOT the case! Cobe begged to go to bed by 8:30, and Riley wanted to go to bed too. Collin and Brooks wanted to watch a movie, but they only made it until a little after 9:00 before they asked to go to bed. Easy slumber party when the kids are worn out from their day's activities!!!!! It'll be hustle and bustle in the morning getting the boys to their various camps for the day, especially since I thought Ryan would be home to help, but now he has court!
I am tired just thinking about it, so I am going to head to bed. G'Night!

Another day of running around
Take 2- different day, many of the same errands...
Today started off with Ryan taking Cobe and Riley to soccer camp and him hitting the post office, while Brooks and I ran to the bank then to buy a new washer and dryer. FYI- if you are thinking of purchasing ANY appliance in the next few months, make sure to do it before June 29th. There is going to be a HUGE increase on all appliances- large and small, including small things such light fixtures all the way to big appliances like fridges, ovens, etc. It isn't an increase from individual stores, but from the manufacturers because freight charges are about to increase significantly so of course, that will be passed down to the consumer. Anyway back on track, we then met Ryan at a furniture store so I could show him the tables, desk, beds, and other furniture I picked out yesterday. We totally changed course (it always helps me to have a night to sleep on major purchases- I'm usually such an impulse buyer!) and just bought a dining room table and a sectional for our home theater room. I was feeling buyer's remorse hugely (thanks Lynette for giving the feeling a name for me!) all day so I already called the store back and told them we'd be in tomorrow morning to maybe change the sectional purchase. I think we can find something for less. I LOVE my new dining/kitchen table and chairs though and felt like we got a super deal on it. It is a black table that is considered a "gathering place" table- it is higher than the average table, but lower than a pub table. So excited because it can seat 8, and since we won't always need the 8 chairs, we can use the 2 extras as bar stools for our kitchen island. Perfect!
After furniture shopping, Lisa picked us up for Kollen's Park. The kids had a really good time! Lynette and her kids came as well for awhile which was fun for all the kids to run around together. We left there around 1:30 so Sadie could come home and nap. Cobe came home from camp at 3:00, so mean ole me woke Sadie up at about 3:30 so we could start on some massive errands. We hit Lowe's, Closet Design, Home Depot, Target, Sam's Club, Van Hill furniture, and then went to Knollwood to measure some areas, see the painted trim, and to take Lisa through the house. Whew! The kids were troopers on all those in and out errands! We didn't get home until after 7:00, but my kids never complained once! They all had baths and then Cobe was ready to hit the hay. Day 2 of 6-hour long soccer camp wore him out!
Tomorrow is much of the same- we have to meet with our builder bright and early, get Cobe to camp, meet with our cabinet/counter top guy for a few changes, go back to the furniture store to either confirm our sectional selection or to change it, go to a different store to see a desk, and I am sure there are other things that will crop up as the day goes on because they always do!
We are also going to hit an indoor pool so it won't matter tomorrow if it is chilly or warmer, we should be fine.
We go to NC on Friday- can't wait for a week AWAY from making decisions about the house. Probably not the best time to be away, but any major things will have to wait until we return. We'll enjoy a relaxing week at the lake. Ahhhhhhhhhh! I think my kids, especially Cobe, need a week of relaxation with no running around and no scheduled activities. And then when we get back, time to start moving! Yay!

Decisions, decisions, decisions
I have spent the day making progress on our new house. We now have a completed front porch, all trimwork completed, and the cabinets are in. They are painting the trim now and will begin with wall paint on Wednesday. It is all coming together quickly here at the end. Today was spent running all over finalizing details. I chose light fixtures, ceiling fans, picked up house numbers, chose the kitchen appliances and a new washer/dryer, and went looking at furniture. It was a busy, but fun day. I hope it all comes together like I picture it!!! I have made small mistakes along the way, but so far, have caught them all and gotten them changed before it was too late. I just HOPE I have caught them all.
Cobe started soccer camp at Hope College today. He went from 9-3. Lisa watched the other 2 this morning so I could go to all those places for the house. Thanks Lisa!!!!! When I was done, we took the kids to Timber Town and played at the park for awhile. Until Miss Sass started up with her mess. Sadie has been a terrible two for the last few days. I can't pinpoint what her problem is, but she has been a tantrum throwing, potty-mouth talking, bossy, whiny little girl the past few days. I am hoping it will pass soon!!!! She is spending the night with Aliyah tonight, so thanks AGAIN Lisa!!!!!!
Lynette called me earlier to tell me about VBS at her church. We don't go to ours at our church anymore- unfortunately, it isn't that well-run, nor do the kids enjoy it much. But I had heard great things about Community's and the boys wanted to go when she called, so they are there. I thought with Cobe being gone all day to camp, that he would never want to go to VBS at night, but he was hip. He knew he'd get to hang with his buddy Dimitri, so he was all about it. We miss D!!!!!! And shocker, Brooks was all into it as well. I felt sure he'd chicken out with it being at an unfamiliar place to him, but I think he SOOOOOO wants to do what Cobe does, and this was finally his chance!!! He saw his buddy Luke right away, so he was content to be there as well. I hope they want to go all week because it makes for great free time for me!!! And best of all, Lynette is going to bring them home, so I don't even have to go out to get them. Thanks Lynette!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow Ryan and I are going to go back to the furniture place to make some decisions and hopefully place an order. Then Lisa and I are going to hit Kollen Park with the kids- if anyone is interested... meet us there! Too cold to swim, but looks like a perfect park day. We will pack lunches and head there for awhile.
We THINK Ryan sold his truck today- the people are paying tomorrow so there is always the chance that it may fall through. But we are praying that it is GONE FOR GOOD!!!! That would be sooooo nice!
Hope everyone had a nice Father's Day yesterday- we had a great morning at church, then headed to MJ's and Jim's for dinner, swimming and boating in the late afternoon. The kids had so much fun with their cousins, and I enjoyed gabbing with the girls.
Well, it is 8:46 so I assuming Lynette will be here any minute with the kids. Alas, my freedom is gone. Haha

2008 Williamsport Little League Champions (9-10 year olds)
The Pirates did it!!! They had a great game with some great hits and good fielding as well. They actually "mercied" the other team in the 4th inning which means they were ahead by 10 runs, so they call the game. The score was 12-2. It was weird b/c all of a sudden, the umps called the game and the kids nor the coaches were expecting it. So it was a downer. Our kids didn't realize what was going on so they just sort of walked off the field. Our coaches wanted to keep playing, so they took out our good pitcher to give the other team some runs b/c the 5th inning was for fun. And Cobe got to pitch a few! He had another great hit out into the grass in right field and this time, I was there to see it! :-) It was such a fun season!!!! I thought until today that he'd be on the Pirates again next year, but coach said they throw the 8 year olds back into the draft since they weren't drafted this year, so he could end up on a totally different team. Hmmm... we'd be sad to leave the Pirates. Ryan may coach, then he'd get to be on the Pirates again. We'll see...
For some reason (I'm guessing because Cobe is so little) his team kept picking him up for all of the pictures. This is the 2008 Pirates accepting their team plaque.
Here they go again picking Cobe up!
Here is my little man in action on the pitcher's mound. He loved it! He only got about 4 pitches in before they called the game for the 2nd time.
Now what will we do without baseball????? Oh yeah- soccer camp starts Monday! :-)

Another Intense One!!!!!!!!
Those Pirates should be called the Cardiac Pack! They won their game against the Cubs tonight 6-5. They were up 3-0 until the 4th inning, then our great pitcher was up to his 75 pitches. So we put in another guy who hasn't had much practice. Unfortunately, he walked a lot of the Cubs. So by the 5th inning, the Cubs were up 5-3. In the bottom of the 4th, it started POURING, so I grabbed Brooks and Sadie and came home thinking they'd call the game. But they waited it out, raked the fields, and started back. Unfortunately, I missed my little boy's best inning in his entire Little League career! He hit a ball out into center field right over the pitcher and over 2nd base and into the grass in the outfield. It was his best hit yet! Our team rallied and came back 6-5. Cobe also caught an awesome catch at 2nd base to get a Cubs player out. Yep, I was sitting home pacing wondering how things were going when I should have been back at the game!!!! So finally I convinced Brooks and Sadie to go back to the field b/c the rain had stopped, but the game had ended. Yay for the Pirates!!!! We play in the championship game tomorrow afternoon against the Tigers. Once again, we'll have a pitcher problem, but hopefully things will go as they did tonight. We went to Vitale's after the game with the Vienings and Curtiss' and the two coaches said Cobe might even pitch once Coby Curtiss pitches his 75. Wouldn't that be something???? :-)

OH BOY!!!!!
Okay, I know most people don't care whether or not we win or lose our games, but I have gotten so into this season, that it matters to me. (And I know my mom will care!) Once again, we were up against the Mets tonight. That was the team that was winning 6-1 and we came back to win 7-6. Does history repeat itself???? YES IT DOES!!!! We were down the entire game and came back in the 6th inning to win 10-9. No lie! I felt horrible for the Mets. They really are a great team and deserved to win just as much as we did. There were many tears shed by their team. So tomorrow night- a very tough game for us. We play at 6:00 against the Cubs. Cobe's best friend Chase plays on that team as well as our good friend Zach DeWitt. They are smoking good too! We have played them once (our very first game of the season) and we won 7-6. The second time we were supposed to play got rained out, so this will be our second match-up. Yikes! We saved a good pitcher for tomorrow night and didn't play him much tonight, but he can only pitch 70 pitches in tomorrow's game. After those pitches, we have NOTHING. No pitchers at all, so I hope we are well ahead by the time his 70 are up!!! (There are weird rules in Little League about how many times a game you can pitch, then you have to sit out the next game, etc. ) So once again, wish Cobe luck!
PS- Cobe had a good night at his game. He scored a run by sliding into home on a foul ball! He had 2 walks and 1 strike-out. We'll take it!

June 11th
Creative title, huh? :-)
Not much has been happening here since I last posted. We have just been playing outside, going to Cobe's ball practices at night, running errands, and we went to the pool today. Yesterday, the Overzet boys came over to play. Today Overzets and Boeves went to the pool with us. The kids have been having fun- relaxing times for me too. We have absolutely no schedule whatsoever. Tonight, Cobe had batting practice at 6:30, but we hadn't planned on him going, since he had it last night and practice Monday night as well. That changed when 5:15 rolled around and all of us were bored, so we headed to the Kaat fields to watch some baseball. I don't really believe how much I have come to enjoy the sport of baseball. I actually suggested to Cobe that we go out there and watch Collin's team play the Mets. I was glad we went- got me out of my boredom, and I got to hang out and gab with Tonya the whole game. Cobe was able to get in some batting practice for his big game tomorrow night. They are up against the Mets. His team has beat the Mets twice this season, but the first time it was 6-2 and this last time it was 7-6. That was the game they were down 6-1 until the 5th inning and came back to tie it up. They went ahead in the 6th inning. A little too close for me! So I know the Mets will be ITCHING to beat us!!!! Plus we are missing one of our really good players/pitchers. Oh well- you win some, you lose some, right? ;-) I just hope for Cobe's sake they can win some because he LOVES to get trophies, and he has only gotten one in his life. I am glad I have another boy coming along so I know I have more excitement to look forward to with Little League.
Well, that pretty much wraps up the last few days. I doubt I'll have quite as much to blog about in the summer since our days just consist of playing, playing and more playing. I haven't given a house update lately: they have pushed back our move-in date until July 12th (was supposed to be July 1st). I am not surprised nor discouraged. Since we haven't sold this house yet, there is no rush to move. The biggest perk of moving will be to walk to the pool instead of driving, but at least we'll still have half the summer left when we do move. The cabinets are sitting in the garage ready to be installed; I meet with Closet Design tomorrow to design the closet systems to be put in; I meet with the decorator on Monday to choose all the lighting fixtures, and unless I'm forgetting something, that is pretty much it! I keep thinking we are almost done choosing things, then they'll throw something else at me that needs to be selected, but I can't think of a single other thing that could possibly need to be picked out.
So, I'll post results tomorrow night from Cobe's big game against the Mets. If they win tomorrow night, they play the winner of the Braves vs. Cubs game on Friday night at 6:00. If they win that, they play the winner of the American League (probably Landon's team, the Rangers) on Saturday at 3:00. If they lose tomorrow night, they are finished with the season. Wish Cobe luck!!!!
Bad Weather Strikes Again
Okay, these storms have been ridiculous! I can't say that last night was the worst storm I have been in because I did live in NC when a hurricane came inland (Hurricane Fran I think), and things then were much worse, but this was a close second I think. I naively didn't think of flooding, so never checked the basement. Unfortunately, our sump pump was overworked and burned out so we got water in our basement. Long story short, Ryan (with his magic cleaning skills) worked all day (while I napped) getting it dry and hauling everything out of our storage room. :-) His dad so graciously came over and helped him get the carpet dry, but he had gotten the majority of the water out. I offered several times to help, but he and Cobe were doing such a great job, they claimed they didn't need my help. So I didn't argue. We are so fortunate to have a friend who is a plumber, so he came over immediately (on a Sunday morning no less) and put in a new pump for us- just in the nick of time since we got hit with more storms this afternoon. Ryan and I went through all of the things in storage and pitched well over half of our stuff. Kyle was kind enough to come pick it up for us and haul it away even after dealing with his nightmare of a flooded basement all night and day. So really, bad was turned to good and we have a completely cleaned out basement-something we would have had to tackle anyway before we moved, so we got it over with today. All the work and cleaning didn't make for our usual Sunday, but we were extremely productive. The kids had a blast playing outside all night with Ella and Jake, and Julie and I had a great gab session while we watched them play. From the looks of the weather, it seems like we might be hit by storms off and on for awhile. Hopefully our new sump pump is up to the challenge!!!!!

This Wacky Michigan Weather!!!!!
Cobe's last game never took place tonight due to the tornado watch. I guess it's okay, but he was looking forward to playing. The tournament starts Monday, but his team won't play for the first time until Thursday night because they are #1 so they don't have to play in the first elimination rounds. So instead, we played outside all night! The weather turned out to be just fine, so they should have played.
This morning, Presley came over as well as the Bell children, then we all headed to the pool and met up with Boeves, Grotenhuis' and Onstotts. Kristen and Lynette joined us there as well. It is so much fun there and so much for the kids to do. Here are some pictures from our day.
Sadie, Baby E, Bailey and Presley cheezing it up.
Tonight Cobe and Elliot got to spend some one-on-one time while Brooks and Sadie were taking their 4 + hour naps!!!!!!!! Cobe made forts for Baby E.
Sadie outside tonight. It was SUPER windy, but was a nice night. Can you tell from her fly-away hair that it was windy????
Baby E chillin with his sidewayz cap on- Ryan gets such a kick out of him!
Miss Sadie striking a pose so I'll go push her on the swings. I had to bribe her for a picture.
The Boeve girls are spending the night b/c Chad and Lisa went out, so Brooks, Maya and Aliyah are now watching a movie, and Sadie and Cobe have gone to bed. The other 3 will be there shortly!

Life is Better!
Yesterday was a pleasantly calm and boring day. We like those around here! :-) No throw up, didn't even really leave the house except to go to the Farmer's Market yesterday morning. Cobe had b-ball camp, then we all headed off to buy some fresh fruit and veggies. I was disappointed in the fruit- none around, but we got 3 pounds of asparagus. After that, we came home and the kids played outside all afternoon.
Cobe had camp again this morning. I tried to go for a walk but got caught in a storm. I was very happy to see my hubby pull up to rescue me from the thunder and lightning. I was RUNNING home as fast as I could when he came and got me. Had plans to go to the pool, but since it was storming, we stayed home and Cole and Kendall came over to play. The kids all had a lot of fun. Sadie and Kendall were obsessed with the drum and maracas and kept marching in the band, while Cole and Brooks were super heroes all day. All of a sudden, my day got away from me, so we rushed off to meet Missy to take the kids home because we had to be at Cobe's baseball game at 5:00. We were late, but so was the coach, so all was good!
Cobe's team played the Phillies and were up 13-0 by the 5th inning. The coaches decided to let some "scrubs" pitch, so first Guillermo got to pitch. The other team scored 3 runs, so they took him out and put none other than Cobe Walker in to pitch!!!!! I was so excited, and more importantly, so was he! He had a grin from ear to ear walking up onto that pitcher's mound, and he made sure I saw him. He had some wild pitches, but got it under control and struck out 2 players! I was very proud of him. The game ended at 13-4 (he walked 1 player and bases were loaded, so they scored a run.) Tomorrow night is his last game. The coaches said they won't be able to make up their rained-out game from Tuesday night b/c there is no time left in the season. It was a fun start to Williamsport!
I have pictures from today of the super heroes and the marching band that I'll post tomorrow. Off to empty the dishwasher and fold clothes!

Welcome McRae Alexander Adams!!!!!
Carmen had her baby on May 24th (several weeks early), and mom and baby are doing great! We can't wait to meet and spoil little McRae! Isn't he just adorable????? We sure think so!
Look at that little grin- don't know why the picture is so small, but I can't make it bigger for some reason.
And look at his mom? Isn't she beautiful????? You are one lucky little boy to have the parents you do and you don't even know it yet!
Precious!

What a day!!!!!
Well obviously since I am posting, I am not on my trip. Long story, but SOOOO glad I didn't go. I would have had to turn right around and come back home.
I decided last night not to go. Grandpa Hains was being released from the hospital today after having surgery yesterday, so Mary Jo felt like she should be with him tonight b/c he would need some care. So since I was on the fence about all the other things I had going on anyway, I didn't go, so she wouldn't have to take care of her father AND my kids. Grandpa did end up coming home today- he had a stint put in yesterday and still has the tube in his side, so probably pretty cumbersome. They did a biopsy yesterday when they put the stint in his bile duct, and the results showed that he does have cancer. It is contained in his bile duct and supposedly, it is a slow-growing cancer. Thank goodness it wasn't in his pancreas. Treatment options will be discussed at a later date- he goes back to the hospital on Monday to have his tube clamped off???? (can't remember exactly what he'll have done on Monday). He has the stint and the tube/bag for now to make sure the stint is working before they get rid of the other. Mary Jo said the doctors are optimistic that he can live for a few years with this kind of cancer.
Cobe had basketball camp again this morning and then spent the morning with his friend Mark. I picked them up for lunch and we headed off to Pizza Hut for the buffet to meet up with the Boeves as well. We went to Apple Valley for some groceries and Old Navy for some flip flops and rash guards first, then hogged down at Pizza Hut. Brooks ate and ate and ate. This is important for a story to come. :-) After that, we came home and Cobe went back to Mark's, Sis went home with the Boeve girls to nap and play and I made some cookies. Things were still going pretty smoothly at this point.
It started raining- pouring at times, lighter at others. Cobe is supposed to have a baseball game at 6:00 which means he has to be at the field at 5:15. At 4:45 I still hadn't heard anything, but couldn't imagine that they'd have the game, so I called his coach, and his coach said, "Yep- be at the field at 5:15; it's barely raining." Meanwhile, Cobe had gone to his friend Jake's house, so I called him to come home to get ready. Brooks had fallen asleep watching a movie, but hopped right up and asked for a bowl of cereal. So he ate, Cobe got dressed, and we headed to the fields in the pouring rain. When we were getting close to Community Church, Brooks started to throw up EVERYWHERE in the van. I whipped into the parking lot at church, flung open the van door, but unfortunately, Brooks didn't react quickly enough and continued to throw up massive amounts IN THE VAN. Well those of you who know me well, know that throw up and me don't mix. I was a wreck. Ryan had just stopped by home when we were pulling out of the driveway to tell me his phone had died and to pick up a charger, so he wasn't answering his phone at this point. I was bawling, gagging and not knowing how I was going to get Cobe to his stupid game even though it was pouring rain and take care of Brooks. Poor kid- he was covered in throw up so I made him take off all his clothes, so he was standing in the parking lot "bare naked" as he kept saying. My van floor was covered in puke, and I had nothing to even begin to clean it up with. So what logical thing do I do? I called 911! Haha Yep- I called 911 to get them to get a hold of Ryan some way so he could come rescue me from my nightmare. And you know what? My knight in shining armor rode up on his white stallion and rescued me from my blubbering, puke-filled mess. Ryan took out all of my floormats and the car seat and headed to the fire station to clean it all up. I took Cobe to the fields IN THE POURING RAIN. Brooks sat in the back "bare naked". (Don't forget- we had a showing going on at our house, so there was no way we could come home.) I knew Cobe's team wasn't going to play because it was raining so hard, so it was a waiting game. My van was still stinking to high heaven at this point, so I ran to the field to tell the coaches we were going to bag it, right as they were deciding at the same time to call off the game. I grabbed Cobe and went to the fire station to meet Ryan so he could clean my van from top to bottom. Brooks had completely recovered by this point and was content to play on the fire trucks as his dad worked his magic as only Ryan can do when it comes to cleaning. My van was spotless, and I owed everyone a huge apology for freaking out on them. Lisa had kept Sadie the whole time which was a HUGE help, so we went and got her and headed home. Aaahhh- I have washed all the clothes Brooks had on, bathed him, and now I feel like things are back to normal. My kids are the best kids in the world, my husband is the best husband in the world, and Lisa is the best friend in the world. It's funny how such good can come out of such a rotten situation. Looking back, it wasn't as big of a deal as it seemed at the time, but at the moment I was completely overwhelmed. I saw Pizza Hut in a non-appealing way the second time around. YUCK! So, back to the first line of the post, I would have had to come home from my trip anyway because I couldn't send a sick kid to someone else's house to take care of. Brooks seems fine, but you never know.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a calmer day! ;-)

Forgot I was tagged.....
Okay, I have to start by laughing at Tonya. She tagged me, but since she usually only posts pictures, she didn't really say WHAT the tag was, so I was clueless until she told me in person today what I was supposed to write about. haha- she cracks me up! So the tag is.... to post 5 random things about you. Here goes:
1. I weigh myself daily. Sometimes several times because I am hoping that a few pounds will have mysteriously fallen off since the last time I weighed (even if it was minutes before).
2. I want 3 more kids, even though I know it isn't possible and even though I know I couldn't handle it- I still want 3 more. :-)
3. I love to read recipes. Usually I have all intentions of making all of the recipes I dog-ear and read, but never get around to most of them.
4. I am obsessed with brushing my teeth. My gums are receding b/c I brush them so much, but I guess I"d rather deal with receding gums than a cavity.
5. They poured the driveway at our new house today.
Random enough for you?????? :-) I tag Lynette, Missy and Wendie.

Catching Up
It seems like a lot has gone on since I last posted, but I can't quite remember what! :-) Saturday was spent at Cobe's baseball game in the morning. I ran some errands after the game, went for a walk, then we headed to the Boeves for dinner. I'm loving these early season cook-outs- LOVE burgers and dogs on the grill. Sunday we spent the whole afternoon at our new pool soaking up some rays, swimming, and letting the kids play on the playground and b-ball courts. I didn't feel so great when we got home- combination of too much sun and a stomach virus I think. I came home and showered then got in bed. The rest of my family went to the Overzets for dinner/cake for Justin's birthday. We had a showing today, so I had to clean in spurts as well as I felt like it. So today started off bright and early b/c Cobe has b-ball camp all week from 8:00-9:30 at the high school. Ryan took him there while I finished up for the showing, then met me at Carpet Bonanza to finalize all our house stuff. Our decorator met us there and we picked out Sadie's bathroom stuff and all of our paint colors. Can't wait to see the finished product!!!! I'm thrilled about the paint colors. We have been looking at the same ole walls in this house for so many years, that any new color seems exciting!!!!!!! And the showing this morning was to a couple who have already been through 3 other times, so we are hopeful. We have ANOTHER showing tomorrow night, so at least the house is still semi-clean and picked up.
Today was also spent at the pool. Overzets, Grotenhuis', and Boeves joined us there as well as Landon. There were 13 kids together, so they all had a blast. The boys and girls had wars on the playground, but all got along great in the pool. I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of time there this summer.
Cobe found out today who his 3rd grade teacher is (Mrs. Thompson), and he has a lot of his friends in his class. She was my first pick for his teacher, so I was happy he got her. I taught her son when he was in 7th grade, so I know her. She is a really strong teacher.
I leave tomorrow on a girls' get-a-way to Fountain Point near Traverse City. We are going to do a winery tour, kayaking/canoeing, dinners out, etc. so I am looking forward to the few days away.... sort of. I feel like it is a lot of work to just get away so I am hoping once I leave, I'll be glad I went. Right now, I am feeling like it would be a lot easier to stay home with so much going on here. Cobe is in camp every morning, he has 2 ball games, showings, possible offer, Grandpa's having another surgery right now as I type this, Ryan's working the whole time I'm gone, etc. etc. etc. I think if it were later in the summer, it'd be easier to get away.
Off to put my 3 little cherubs to bed- 8:00am comes early!!!!!
