Need some advice....

Just a quick post to beg for some advice:

Ryan's friend just dropped off 3 HUGE bags of salmon. There has to be at least 50-60 pieces of fish in the bags- no lie! The only way we know how to cook salmon is to put it in tinfoil on the grill with veggies in the foil with it. That might get old with all of that salmon. So, I need anyone who reads this to leave me a comment on another great way to cook/eat salmon! Consider it a challenge. Thanks- and some of you who are reading this will probably be invited over for a salmon dinner in the near future. :-)

Lynette- I know you are a pro, so I expect a few good ideas from you! "-)

Watching this post closely, I need ideas too! on allrecipes.com check out this: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Firecracker-Grilled-Alaska-Salmon/Detail.aspx, super yummy, just make sure you marinade it overnight so it has LOTS of flavor (I have sesame oil too if you need a little to try (I don't think it's widely used)). Another way we do it is place foil on the grill, multiple layers of good heavy foil, put the salmon on it and cook for a little bit (This is Matt's job so I am unsure of specifics), add lots of butter, garlic powder, lemon pepper and salt and mushrooms and cut up onions! That is definatley one of my fav's but sooooo very fattening! One other thing I've heard (but yet to try) is a little dill and lemon juice (I think you just place the lemon slices on the salmon while grilling! Good luck and ENJOY!

So funny you posted this, we just did salmon last night. We found this recipe on the food network, it was absolutely AMAZING and so easy! Our friend doesn't like salmon and loved this, so did the kids! Try it out! Here you go:
2 tbsp celery seed
1 tbsp paprika
1tbsp ground nutmeg
1tbsp chili powder
1tbsp garlic powder
1tbsp onion salt
2 tbsp dried marjoram
1tbsp kosher salt
1 1/2 tbsp light brown sugar
1tbsp fresh ground black pepper
Extra virgin olive oil
2 sides of salmon (covers about 2 3 1/2 lbs pieces)

combine all the spices. Generously rub the spice mix on the flesh side of the salmon and drizzle with a light coat of oil. Place the salmon on the grill, flesh side first. Let cook for about 7 to 10 minutes each side.

We didn't use the chili powder because I am allergic but it was FABULOUS without it. We put the season on the meat side and cooked witht he skin side down first to let the flavor sink in then flipped it.

Happy grilling!
