Even though I was sick during the night Thursday night, I was able to recoup in time to enjoy the weekend. I had some stomach thing going on, but felt some better Friday, and much better on Saturday. My mom was up during the night Thursday sick as well...ironic that she is 880 miles away and we were sick at the exact same time. Hers ended up being a kidney infection so she stayed sick much longer than me.
Anywho, Friday night we had some of Ryan's work buddies and their families over to the pool to grill. It was fun to hang out and socialize with people we don't usually hang out with. I wasn't feeling 100%, but was still able to have fun. Two of the girls are coming over tomorrow with their kids to the pool to hang out again. One of the little girls is going to be in Sadie's 3-school class next year, so her mom and I want to get the girls together some this summer before school starts.
Saturday we slept in LATE, then slowly got ready and headed up to Lamers' cottage. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun out on the sea-doo, in the water, on the pontoon and the kids had a hughnormous sand hill to climb (I mean TALL) all day. They played baseball too. There were 12 kids there total and 12 adults. All was going well until the cops showed up and summoned me and Jason over. I obviously had been breaking the law on the seadoo which I was TOTALLY unaware of, and Jason had also broken the law while he was on the seadoo. Three cops showed up and said multiple complaints had been called in against us. Whatever! There must have been some crabby people on that lake because we were pretty mild all day! I have to say though, even though my hubby is a cop, I was shaking like a leaf when I got summoned out of the cottage to go talk to them. Apparently it is a Michigan law that you can't have a wake within 100 yards of shore????? Or something crazy like that??????? I got a lecture and Jason got it a little more than me b/c he had been razzing the geese- $1500 fine!!!! Luckily, the cops were super cool and said they understood and had to come talk to us so the neighbors would see them doing it and went on their way (Jason just got a talking to as well- no fine). Ryan smoothed things over for us with some cop talk after he let me suffer for awhile. I don't want another brush with the law anytime soon- my nerves aren't up for it! Ryan keeps referring to me as the "ex-con" now everytime he can weave it into the conversation. Haha Barrel of laughs! The Lamers KNOW how to entertain though- we had some de-lish food!!!!! Instead of the usual burgers and dogs, they cooked wall-eye, salmon, shrimp, and garlic/herb chicken on the grill- it was sooooo yummy!!!!! I was glad I was feeling better then so I could enjoy the food!
Sunday was a great time too. Ryan's parents and Jen and her boys headed over around 1:45 or so and we hung out at the pool all afternoon. Jim and Ryan went and picked up Subway for dinner, so we ate that and swam some more. The kids all had so much together. Jen and I stayed there with the older 4 until after 8:00. I am loving all this activity- my kids are sleeping in super late- Sadie didn't get up this weekend either morning until almost 11:00!!!!!! So of course, neither did Ryan or me. The boys got up close to 10:00 and watched tv until we got up- such a luxury!
Today has been more fun pool time. Jake, Josh and Jen came over (Justin is at camp this week), Lisa and her girls came over, and we had neighborhood friends to play with at the pool as well. I love being out of the house all day, yet still in the neighborhood- my house stays clean, but I still can run home for anything I need. :-)
Tomorrow the Boeves are heading to Indiana for a Buffet concert, so A & M will be spending the night. Slumber party! We have some friends coming over to the pool again as well. Notice the theme of the summer??????? I need to find a day to get to work and get my classroom ready. Time is slipping by....
Please say a prayer for Grandpa Hains- we got a call this morning at 6:30 that he was going to the hospital in a lot of pain. Ryan went over there and said he was not looking good at all. MJ called at 11:30 and said he was back at home, and they didn't really find anything- think it may have been a gallstone passing. He was more comfortable after taking the pain meds they gave him. He has been doing SO much better since his initial cancer diagnosis and all his recent surgeries. He really looks like his old self again and has even been driving again. They stopped over yesterday as well and hung out at the pool for awhile with us and got to watch their great grandkids swim for awhile. They thoroughly enjoy their 10 great grandkids and have missed them a ton since Grandpa has been sick. We are hoping that today's incident is a very minor setback and that Grandpa will be back on the road to recovery soon.
Still working on the whole posting pictures thing withOUT any luck. I think I'll cave pretty soon and pay for cable internet again even though we are supposed to have "free" wireless here. I guess I"m getting what I"m paying for- absolutely NOTHING!!!!!
So, if you want to see my house, you'll have to come in person!!!!! Come visit!!!!!

A lot of pool time
Can't really say how I have been spending my time this week, but most of it has been spent between running errands, running the kids places and being at the pool. We have had friends out each day to hang out at the pool and my kids have either gone to a friend's house or had friends over everyday as well. Makes for happy kids and a happy mom! Brooks had his buddy Jeffrey sleep over last night. They had a good time. It was fun to watch Brooks "show off" because he is usually so quiet and mellow, but with Jeffrey here, he was singing, dancing, and carrying on in front of Jeffrey. We went to the pool for awhile and Missy and Lynette and their kids joined us, then we came home for Sadie to nap. After I woke her up, we went to Ryan's mom's for slip-n-slide fun, swimming in the lake and a boat ride. It was a great diversion from our house and the pool. Missy and Amanda (and their kids) came over on Tuesday to swim which was fun as well. Cobe has pretty much been gone everyday to one friend's house or another. He actually was at Chase's yesterday then he and Chase went with us to Mary Jo's, and he is gone again today at a friend's. It is quiet around here without him.
Today has been low-key. I went to Wal-Mart (Lynette's absolute favorite place in the world) for some groceries because we are having some of Ryan's work buddies and their families over tomorrow night for hamburgers, hot dogs and the likes. We are going to grill out at the pool and have a pool party. So I made a yummy dessert (Peanut Butter and Chocolate Eclair Dessert) for that when I got home. I am going to make another one tomorrow for our Saturday outing- we are heading up to the Lamer's cottage on a lake in Greenville. I love to cook, bake, whip up stuff in the kitchen when I have all the ingredients. I spent hours last night going through recipes and reading cookbooks- a hobby of mine. Then I can't ever decide what to make because there are so many good choices!!!!!! I am going to make veggie pizza and a new Tex-mex dip recipe that I found as well for tomorrow/Saturday.
Well.... I am going to take advantage of Sadie's long naps and go read some new magazines that came in the mail yesterday. Have a great weekend!

Wireless internet SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
I have been trying to post pictures from yesterday since last night and am having NO LUCK!!! We had cable internet at our old house, and it was speedy all the time. Ever since we have moved, our internet service has been sketchy at best. We get wireless internet free in this neighborhood, so I thought it would be nice. There is a router RIGHT beside our house too, so you would think we'd be good-not so much. Anyway, it took me hours to post these three pictures so now I am giving up, but we did have a great time yesterday at Ryan's work party at Craig's Cruisers and I have pictures to prove it, obviously for our eyes only since they won't post. We got there at 12:30 and ate lunch, then had a 2-hour wristband. They also had the inflatables outside of the park. We raced, went on the boats, golfed the mini-golf, and the guys all did the batting cages as well.
Ryan and Brooks zooming around the racetrack.

Cobe and Ryan on the bumper boats. Brooks and I got a bum boat- the squirter didn't work, so of course, everyone soaked us and we had no defense!!!!!

Brooks and Sadie in the inflatable jumpy thing.
We really had a great weekend. We got up Saturday morning EARLY and went back to the old house for one more day of moving and cleaning. We had a showing there at 3:30, so we had a definite deadline of when everything had to be out and cleaned by. I never knew how hard it would be to clean an empty house. I thought it would be a matter of vacuuming and cleaning the bathrooms because without furniture, what else is there? I was sadly mistaken. It took me up until 3:00 to clean and it was backbreaking work. Ryan got all the stuff moved and all of the junk to Goodwill, so it is a great feeling to be done with that house. Hopefully it will sell now that it is empty.
After all that, we came home, got ready and went to Remick's for their annual pool party. We had a great time hanging out with friends. We made it an early night b/c Lisa had had my kids since 9:30 that morning and since we had worked all day, we were tired. The Onstotts went home and paid their babysitter, got their kids, and headed over to our place for the post-party. The kids all played until they left at 11:00 or so.
Sunday, we went to church and heard our new preacher preach. He was really good, and I enjoyed his sermon. We then headed to CC for the work party, then home to the pool. It was a busy, but fun AND productive weekend- the best kind!
Today was spent at Target (for about the 10th trip there since I moved), Best Buy, Lowe's and then home to meet with the guys who are making roller shades for my screened in porch. Sadie is napping, but when she awakes, we'll be heading to the pool since the boys have been asking all day. Hopefully, I can figure out something soon about posting pictures, so I can show some of the house. Don't hold your breath though if it takes me as long as it did to post these three!!!!!!!

Back on!
I got a wireless internet card this morning, so now I feel connected to the "real" world again. I have been so busy that I most likely would have not had time to be on the internet anyway, but I feel much better now that I can if I want to.
Our move went very smoothly. We had some GREAT help. Lisa Boeve is a lifesaver and organized my entire new house. I do not have a knack nor the desire to put things away, and I have always admired how neat, clean, and uncluttered Lisa's house is, so I convinced her to stay at my new house and put away each van load that I brought over. And like I thought, she worked MIRACLES and my house looks great!!!!!! The guys got all the furniture moved and Lisa and I did all the other stuff. Thanks to friends and family, we got the majority of stuff moved on Saturday. I have gone back several times for a few more loads, and now we have to wait until this Saturday to finish up. We can't move any of our garage stuff here until after tomorrow because they are painting that in the morning. So, Saturday we'll get all that stuff, and once I clean the old house, we'll be done! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be to move 10 years worth of stuff. I loved the fact that I only moved what I use and left behind what got used infrequently or not at all. There will be several hauls to Goodwill in our future.
I love my new home. I'll have to take pictures and post soon. I still know that there are things not done, so I will wait until those things get done. For example, lots of our light fixtures were backordered, so we don't have quite a few of those, our built-in bookshelves don't have doors yet, our master shower is being finished tomorrow, our granite countertop isn't in yet, our bar in the bonus room needs to be tiled.... get the picture??? Lots of little ends to tie up! We are getting there though.
We have been enjoying the pool everyday we have been here which is a nice feature. Work guys are still in and out all day since there are things to be finished, so it has been nice to go to the pool while they are here working. The kids have been able to have their friends over to swim and play at the playground, so they are loving life. We have already had friends spend the night! I have lots of stuff still left to buy and unfortunately, will have to wait on the rest until the cash flow starts up again. It is crazy expensive to move!!!!! I want the perfect rugs and trash cans and shower curtains and towels and pictures and lamps, and of course, none of my old stuff will work. :-) I have ceased for awhile and hope to save up some more to get the rest soon!!!!!! Our wood blinds are being installed tomorrow in every window, so I can't wait for that so we can have some privacy.
I think tomorrow is going to be a beach day- hot and humid and we need to be gone for the many workers that will be invading our home starting at 7:30 am!!!!!! Back soon for pictures I hope!

Blogging Break?????
I have a feeling I may not post for awhile. We are moving soon and our new house has wireless internet, but my computer isn't ready for wireless yet. I have a million and 5 things to do, so going out to get a wireless card unfortunately ranks low on my list. So if you notice me missing from commenting, blogging, emailing, etc. , know that is why and hopefully I'll be up and running again sometime soon. TTYS!

The Excitement Builds!!!!!!!
The kids and I went over to our new house tonight. We move in "4 sleeps"!!!! It seems hard to believe that it will actually be ready for us, but they claim we will have occupancy tomorrow and they'll put the keys in our hands on Thursday. I am sure once the cleaning ladies do their job, it will be more fit to live in. The carpet is in, the light fixtures are 80% done, half the appliances were in. It has come together the last few days. They still need to put in 3 of the 4 toilets, a few more light fixtures, the fridge and dishwasher and the closet systems. There may other little things I am forgetting, but they have 2 more days and that's it.
We have had a fun 2 days. Yesterday, it was yucky out and stormed. My boys watched 4 movies in a row from the time they got up until later in the afternoon. I cannot recall a time when that has happened. Sadie napped for 4 hours, so I had lots of free time. After all that quiet time, we went to Logan's for dinner, then out to the Kaat fields to watch some of the All-Star games. Made it home in time to see the Bachelorette, which I loved.
Today, Cobe started football camp, so he and Ryan went to that. The younger 2 slept in until 9:00, then they rode their bikes for awhile. I listed a bunch of stuff on Craig'slist that I needed to keep until we moved, and the stuff already sold today. So, we are without TV until we move, since our tv's sold. Our washer and dryer sold as well, but luckily, she is waiting until Friday morning to pick those up so I can keep washing up until then. We headed to the pool after lunch and it was bright and sunny at the time. Brooks' friend Evan went with us, and we met Mary Jo, Boeves, Overzets and Cobe's friend Darius and his mom there. The kids had a great time playing in the water, on a huge dirt pile, at the park and on the b-ball court. The weather looked like at any second it was going to rain, but then it would clear up again. Cobe went home with Darius to play, and I ran Evan home, then went to Lisa's to walk. A shower tonight has never felt so good!!!!!!
I know I am going to regret not preparing for this move better, but my way of preparing has been selling off everything we own so I don't have to move it. Forget packing! :-)
Tomorrow is football camp once again and swim lessons after that. I am heading to bed now to crash.

What a Fun Weekend!!!!!!!!
Sadly, I didn't take a single picture all weekend of all our fun parties/gatherings/outings. Every time we left for a different place, I thought about it on the way there that I didn't have my camera- each time about 10-15 minutes too late.
Friday we headed up to Rockford about 12:30 or so. We had so much fun with Onstotts, Bekins, Everses and Freriks at "The Shack." Jason's parents were there as well as Mike, and his sister and her husband came too towards the end of the night. We swam, fished, boated and grilled out. The kids were obsessed with catching grasshoppers, dragonflies, etc. so a lot of the time, they just ran around catching bugs. Sadie said her favorite part was going in the "hot tub" with Lovie, Ella and Max. (The hot tub was a kiddie pool filled with warm water!) She was NOT a fan of the fireworks that started later in the evening. She covered her ears and just shook. Ryan took her inside and let her watch from their big window, and she was much happier then. She did come out by the end of the night to sit with me again to watch them. My kids were whipped and all crashed on the way home.
Saturday morning I met Lisa and her girls at the pool and Brooks and Sadie swam. Cobe went to Mark's and didn't want to come. After that, we came home for Sadie to nap; I ran to Meijer's and home again to make fruit pizza for our night at the Bekins.
We headed to Bekins around 5:30 and had another great time. Darcey had rented a HUMONGOUS water slide, so the kids had fun on that. She also had a pinata and the boys played a lot of baseball that night in the front yard. They have a ride-on sports car, so Sadie was toodling around the cul-de-sac in that most of the night. Lamers, Remicks, Holsteges, Vienings, Onstotts, Turners, and some other friends and neighbors were all there. The kids were whipped once again from all that activity, and even though we got home late, they took baths/showers b/c I realized it had been a L-O-N-G time since their little bodies had been cleansed!!!!!!!
Today we got up, packed some lunches and our beach stuff and headed to Pier Cove with the Boeves, Grotenhuis', Everses, Drneks, and Slenks arriving around 10:45. We spent the whole day there. That is the best beach I have ever been to (around here anyway!) The kids were totally entertained because there is a lot to do besides just swimming. They climbed trees/logs, dug up "fossils" (as they called them), played in the creek, boogie-boarded, and went out to the sandbar to swim. The little ones can stay right in the creek that feeds into the big lake the whole time, and then I don't have to worry about them. Cobe and the older ones kept going out into the big lake; there was a sandbar a ways out that they would swim to, and then they could touch again. Once again, they are all whipped.
We just had dinner, so I am assuming it will be bed time shortly for this crew. Check Tonya's blog in the next few days- she took her camera and took some pictures of all the kids at the beach.
A busy week ahead: MOVING starting Friday, swim lessons M-W-F, football camp T-W-Th. Enough to make my head spin!!!!!!!!

July 4th
The men of the household kicked off their holiday weekend last night with fireworks at Amanda's parents' house. They headed over around 8:15 or so, and Sadie and I stayed home. We should have gone- she took another late nap, so she wasn't ready for bed when I put her down at 9:30. I got in bed at 10:00 and was out like a light- early for me!!!!! Even if she didn't need her sleep, I must have. I didn't even hear the guys when they got home and everyone is still sleeping, so I haven't heard how the night went- I'm sure they had fun.
In store today is a trip to Rockford (Silver Lake) with the Onstotts. I'm sure that will be a blast- boating, fishing, swimming, sliding, jumping on the water tramp, etc. etc. etc. Plus we'll end the night there with a huge fireworks display that they have every year- another late night.
Tomorrow is a party at Bekins. Every year they have a joint 4th of July party/Carson's birthday party because his birthday is on the 4th. So he invites all his friends and Darc and Brian invite all of theirs. It is always a fun time. So once again, another late night. My kids should be ready to take it easy come Sunday.
Justin and Jake spent the night Wednesday night and stayed here yesterday while Jen worked- the boys all had a blast. So much fun when the cousins are here- built-in playmates for the kids, and they love each other so much. They are all like brothers withOUT the fighting, bickering, etc. So makes for an easy night/day for me as well.
We ran over to our new house last night after dinner- tile blacksplash in the kitchen had been done, towel bars, shower curtain rods, tp holders, etc. had been installed, the master bath floor and shower was tiled, the entryway was finished being tiled, all the door knobs were on, and the closets had been started with the wire systems. All of the toilets, sinks and light fixtures are in the garage, so I am assuming those will be going in soon. I thought today, but maybe not since it is a holiday- so it does look like we are behind again. Oh well!
I am going to go fit in my exercise now before my troops awaken to start their busy weekend! Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!

Stormy Weather
You never know in Michigan if the weather predictions will hold true, but today, the storms came. We were supposed to go to Hunter's birthday party tonight at Timbertown, but the weather canceled that plan. And we were supposed to go out to the Kaat fields after the party to watch Landon's scrimmage, but the weather canceled that plan as well. I can't recall ever seeing it pitch black in the daytime before, but it was this afternoon.
The kids at least made it through their swim lessons before the bottom fell out, and I made it to Sam's Club for a few snacks and dessert for our outing for July 4th. We had a showing scheduled from 3-4, so we had to be out of the house, so Jen took the boys home with her from swim lessons, and Sadie and I headed to Sam's. I happened to get home and saw that it was an older man who came through the house, and he was in the house maybe 4 minutes max!!!!! Frustrating!!!!! But Ryan cleaned this time, so our house is spotless once again. :-)
Sadie is sleeping in the basement, the boys are still at Jen's, Lynette is heading over to hang out b/c they are without power due to the storm, so I am going to try and shower while she is here to listen for Sadie and then run go get the boys. Hope the bad weather is behind us!!!!

A million little things...
to finish up on the house. I kept thinking I was done before we left for NC, but yesterday and today, little things came up to deal with. Tile never being picked out for my shower floor, the granite counter top for the island had been discontinued so I needed to pick out another one, changes to the bar in the bonus room, etc. Just little things, but enough to keep my head spinning wondering if it will finally all come together in time to move next weekend. Still hoping....
Yesterday was spent with a low-key morning at home, then off to swim lessons for the kids. All 3 kids are taking them, so that takes up about 2 hours of the afternoon. Then we came home for Sadie to nap, then headed back to Knollwood to meet up with Ryan's family to swim. We were going to try to stop by Landon's to wish him a Happy Birthday and we were supposed to go to the DeWitts for a pool party with the VanSingels, but Sadie slept until 5:00!!!!! So, we stopped at Landon's on the way home from the pool instead, and never made it to the DeWitts.
Today was busier- Brooks had Evan over and Cobe went to Chase's to play. I had to run a few errands and make some phone calls for house stuff. I sold 2 pieces of furniture also throughout the day that I had listed on Craigslist, so now we are without our loveseat and sofa table. Our kitchen table sold as well, but the people aren't picking it up until Monday night, so our house will feel bare! We picked up Cobe and Chase and along with Brooks, Evan and Sadie, we went to Mary Jo and Jim's for dinner and boating. Amanda/Kyle and their girls and Jen/Chad and their boys were all there as well, so the cousins and friends had a good time swimming and playing together. We didn't get home until 9:30 or so from dropping the 2 boys off. The kids were whipped and so am I. Ryan missed out on all the action b/c he is at work, so I am off to finish a great book that I started yesterday and will finish tonight- Sunday at Tiffany's. Easy read, but great!
